The New Garden Quarter is a residential development that forms a key part of the regeneration of Stratford, London. The scheme provides over 470 new homes split over two phases. Due to various site constraints, the 8 storey development required significant negotiations with the local highways authority, as well as negotiations with Network Rail. The development features various carbon reducing elements, such as a Sustainable Urban Drainage System, and an efficient RC frame design; in combination with lightweight steel roof structure.

With innovative in-house monitoring tools, Walsh clients have seen on average reductions of 10-20% total embodied carbon, with some of our flagship work achieving 60-70% reductions compared with baseline figures.
