Event: The Building Safety Act – An Update

Following the positive reception of our last event, Walsh is hosting another event for our clients and contacts on the Building Safety Act.

Five new statutory instruments were published in August and will be particularly important in defining the new regime, so we are delighted to have our industry expert – Paul Nash, Director of Building Safety at Catalyst – back to tell us more.

About Paul Nash
Paul Nash MSc PPCIOB, Director of Building Safety at Catalyst, has had a career spanning over 35 years with senior and board level positions at a number of leading consultancies in the construction and property sector. He has advised on the delivery of high profile and complex projects and programmes in the UK and internationally.

A Fellow and Past President of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Paul is currently a member of the Industry Safety Steering Group and the Procurement Advisory Group, that were set up to advise the Government on Building Safety in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Paul was recently appointed to the Building Advisory Committee, which is one of three statutory committees established under the Building Safety Act 2022 and advises the Building Safety Regulator on the safety and standards of all buildings.

Two further SI’s are due to be published shortly, one of which will cover the information that accountable persons for occupied higher-risk buildings need to keep as golden thread information and what information they need to share with residents and other people who are involved in ensuring the safety of the building.

THIS EVENT WILL COVER:

TIME: 4pm-5.30pm with networking / hospitality until 8pm
DATE: 11th October 2023
