Event: An Introduction to the Building Safety Act

Walsh is hosting an event on the Building Safety Act for Project Managers.

With secondary legislation on the Act expected to be published in July, this timely event will help clarify the impacts on project management and the wider construction industry.

EVENT HOST – INDUSTRY EXPERT PAUL NASH MSc PPCIOB
The event will be hosted by Paul Nash MSc PPCIOB, Director of Building Safety at Catalyst, who has had a career spanning over 35 years with senior and board level positions at a number of leading consultancies in the construction and property sector. He has advised on the delivery of high profile and complex projects and programmes in the UK and internationally.

A Fellow and Past President of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Paul is currently a member of the Industry Safety Steering Group and the Procurement Advisory Group, that were set up to advise the Government on Building Safety in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Paul was recently appointed to the Building Advisory Committee, which is one of three statutory committees established under the Building Safety Act 2022 and advises the Building Safety Regulator on the safety and standards of all buildings.

THIS EVENT WILL COVER:

• The background to the Building Safety Act.
• An overview of what is in the Act
• An explanation of the legal duties imposed on duty holders under that Act.

EVENT FORMAT: A short presentation with Q&A discussions followed by an optional networking event with drinks & canapes
TIME: 4pm-5.30pm with networking / hospitality until 8pm
