In Planning

The Southernwood Retail Park development is currently awaiting planning permission, it will involve demolishing the existing retail units to create a new mixed-use retail and residential space. The redevelopment of Southernwood Retail Park on Old Kent Road involves the demolition of the existing warehouse style retail units and construction of a residential led mixed use scheme. The scheme includes around 750 residential units in varying height blocks of up to 48 storeys, along with a circa 250 room hotel, large retail units, a cinema and single storey basement across the development footprint. A major constraint for the site is the proposed Bakerloo Line extension. Current proposals are for a station close to the development site and for both tunnels to run directly below the site. We have developed a foundation strategy to allow for flexibility of the tunnel positions to enable the development to progress ahead of the BLE.
