The Century House development saw the re-development of the former MI6 Building in Vauxhall London converted into residential apartments. This project involved complete stripping of the façade and major structural alterations., including the removal of some shear cores. Due to our use of pioneering technology we were able to analyze the existing structure of the building & remove sections of the existing walls on the lower floors. This resulted in additional sales area being released to our client. The demolition and the construction of the basement presented major problems with ground movement, as some early Bakerloo cast iron tunnels exist below the site. These tunnels are extremely sensitive to movement and we worked closely with LUL to avoid damage, and were involved in the repair and strengthening of the tunnels.
